Fined Grained Password Policy - Concept

Fined Grained Password Policy: Introduced in Windows 2008 to cater the need of those environments where multiple password policies were required.

Prior to Windows 2008, when ever you wanted to configure multiple password policies, we either have to use a 3rd party product or to create a child domain for the different password policy

With Windows 2008 came the option of creating multiple password policies by the use of "Fined Grained Password Policy" or FGPP

The default password policy which is applied on the domain or domain controller level still exist. But in case you want to configure multiple password policies, then you have to use FGPP

FGPP can be applied either on a User or a Security Group
